Katoya's Playhouse is a 100-acre educational classroom for children and adults alike to reconnect with nature. We are located near Crocket, Texas, within two hours drive between Dallas and Houston, Texas and forty-five minutes from Davy Crockett National Forest.

Our main focus is to bring inner-city, socially disadvantage, and underprivileged youths ages five (5) to sixteen (16) who might never get a chance to go into the woods to teach them how we all play a part in the use and say of nature and urban forestry in general.

Katoya's playhouse features a fishing pond, four outdoor classrooms, and three food plots along a 1.5 mile educational hiking trail. At each food plot, kids can plant and grow a garden, plant animal and bird feed plots, learn and identify animal tracks, different types of plants, trees, how to tell the age of a tree and what the trees tells us about the history of the land.

At Katoya's Playhouse, we would like to teach our participants self-worth, understanding, the link between man and nature, the importance of cleanliness, proper care or our forest and how to preserve it for the next generation. Katoya's Playhouse will expose children to the ideas of forestry and agriculture on a 1.5 mile trail linking biology, wildlife, life skills, preservation, the ozone and the importance of taking care of the soil as it connects to our water and to our way of life here on earth.
